THE LOOK | Fluid contours with basic shapes and soft functionality.

PROCES
ANALYSE  | market research & design direction
We looked at the design brief from every perspective and combined information to arrive at a relevant design starting point.
In this, the brand identity of HEMA has been determined and translated into separate characteristics, such as shape, material, color and texture, with 'functionality' as a binding element. The biggest challenge in this respect is HEMA's wide market range, which appeals to both rustic and modern minimalist customers.
SKETCH  | combine the elements
We wanted to compose each piece from elementary elements. Everything  we added had to add functionality.  Playing with proportions where diameters remained constant, became a search for interesting 'characters'.
Stacking was our number one requirement. Fine tuning the narrowing, which makes the stacking possible, became the image-determining element of the entire tableware set.

DEVELOPMENT  | sizes and details
Each piece of the tableware set is available in glass or ceramic, with or without relief and in color or neutral white. An apparently soberly designed tableware can therefore be put together according to taste to form a complex and personal whole.
